Do you love to make a wish? Then wishing stones may just be for you!
I have a few that I have collected myself at beaches, but you can also buy these magical tools if you wished, or find them in perhaps a stream, or just about anywhere that has a collection of natures stones.
Two of mine are pictured here. So what makes a 'stone' a wishing one?
As with many things in life, there are many schools of thought.
Some say that they must be one colour, with one single, unbroken band around that stone.
For me the above is too rigid, and my two stones literally 'spoke' to me. Yes, they have white bands around them, but there is more than one.
So how does one go about activating your wish?
One way is to trace your finger around the white line while putting your wish out into the Universe, with your eyes closed. Then you can put it back or throw into the sea/river depending on where you found it, or give it to another person for the wish to activate.
The two pictured I saved, as in kept them to use for wishes at a later date.
Your intent with anything is the most important thing, and how you action it is up to you, just do what feels right for your soul.
You could make a wish for someone you love too, or gift one to someone for them to make a wish!
There are different names and traditions around these stones.
They are natural stones (any type) that have a hole, made naturally by water, that go through it.
Names for them include hag (witch) stone, fairy stone, Odin stone, holy stone and adder stone.
I just love how cool they look and that they are associated with the element of water.
They can be used as symbols to protect (hag and adder) or legend has it that if you look through the hole you will see into the fairy realms (fairy stone).
Witches (hag) stones can be used in spell work for things like love, pregnancy and to help heal you whilst you sleep allowing in positive and trans formative energy. Many moons ago cultures used them to protect against witches magic that was thrown their way.
I have two of mine in the picture above, one with a ribbon though a large hole, so that I can hang it up.
Whatever energy you associate with them, I think they are fun and great objects to have, that nature has created and can be marveled over!
When I started doing intuitive readings, I was guided by my intuition to create these, my own little owl way of divination and giving someone a really important soul message.
I used to charge them up in the moonlight, and then connected with the universe to personally write words on them intuitively for someone needing guidance, that crossed my path.
I then placed them in a little silk bag for a client that would pick one out or I would on their behalf if I was 'reading' remotely. They also got to take them away with them once their reading was over if they saw me in my little Owl cave.
I am busy creating another set with Irish stones that I have been collecting from beaches, so keep an eye on the page for when I start using them!
It could also be an idea for you, as a final empowering thought, to create your own little set so that you can empower yourself daily with words!
I hope that enjoyed this little posting as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Do you have any of the above stones? How do you use them? What do they mean to you?
I would also love to know if you decide to create your own little 'owl' stones and how they work out for you
Thank you for being here, you are so magical and worthy
What an opening title .... I guess my naughty side wanted to make an appearance this morning when writing this, which is epic, as 'she' has been buried for a little while.
I am referring to one of my favourite spiritual tools, the pendulum.
These, quite simply, are using a weighted object on a chain or string. You can make one or buy one, and use something that you love and are 'deeply' connected with if you perhaps want to give this this form of divination a serious go.
Used for centuries, in spirituality, I use mine to work with my intuition (basically an extension of it), so that you can 'see' a physical manifestation. It likes to be used to answer questions very simply (usually either a yes or a no) and it is for insight (I don't believe in fortune telling) for a potential outcome to a specifically 'worded' question.
I recently gifted myself the pendulum board that you can see in the picture, and although these are not essential, I find it can really help with my connection and flow. I will include the link to the seller of my board and a link to how to use a pendulum, at the end, for those of you who may be interested. If you would like me to create a video on using a pendulum, please let me know.
I have a bit of a pendulum collection building, with most of them involving crystals. Over the years I have owned some that I really connected with, but some that simply were not for me, so I gifted them on, or retired them.
I remember as a child, probably around the age of 5, as my family had just moved from Hong Kong back to Ireland into a big old house, using something that was on a string and trying to will it to move for me, but got so frustrated as it wouldn't move, even though I strongly felt that it should. I share this little story with you, because you can try too hard, or simply what you are using is not for you, or it or you needs spiritually cleansed.
Do you need to believe in 'something' (eg universe, god, etc) for it to work? No, I don't feel you do as it works with your subconscious and having a belief in yourself is all that is needed.... so why not give it a go?
I would love to hear your experiences

Who loves a cup of tea?
Being Irish, having a 'wee' cuppa is steeped into the culture.
I find it magical in many senses, so please allow me to share with you why.
1. It makes me feel good, happy. Yes, there is caffeine within some teas, but not all, which can contribute, but there is such a variety out there, and trying different ones also fills me with a sense of excitement. Also, I love teapots, and having tea in unusual ones or having a gorgeous little funky teapot cover on a teapot makes my soul smile.
2. The water used with tea helps our beautiful bodies hydrate, and is a fun way to do so. Some teas, like green tea, offer other benefits like cleansing our bodies, and others like Chamomile can help you relax.
3. When someone makes you a cup of tea, how do you feel? It is so nice having someone do this for you, so never take it for granted, and relish it when they offer. You too, can make one for someone you care about and this could make such a difference in someone's life, particularly if they are going through a hard time.
4. Having some tea can make you take time out, if you are really busy to center and refocus. This is amazing as it takes 5 to 10 minutes and can potentially have a profound effect on your overall well being and productivity.
5. Making the tea itself can be something that can allow you to be 'in the moment'. Literally bringing your conscious thoughts to that one thing, that lets everything else go for those few minutes. Even gazing into a teacup can be very therapeutic for the soul, and you practicing self care.
Tea has come up for me a lot recently, as my mum loved having 'a wee cup of tea'. Since she transitioned in December 2019, every time I have a cup of tea, I am usually present with her energy and have a 'conversation' with her, about loving memories we shared or I think about something that is perplexing me, and she comes up with a simple solution ( I am guilty of over complicating and overthinking). Sometimes, we simply 'sit' with each other and enjoy those moments and each others energy. She gifted me a picture, whilst living in South Africa, that I will share below, that I treasure.
Herbal teas, in their raw form, also get me really excited and I love seeing them in glass jars. It is like I am transported back to a life when I used to use herbs to help others, and truly believed in the magic of mother nature and what she can do to help with healing on so many levels. I love that 'witchy' side to me and the memories of past lives that tea can evoke.
To all you coffee lovers, I hear you! Maybe I will explore with you, another time, how much those beans help to ground me!
This muse is dedicated to my mum, and our 'cups' of tea together.
Love as always
Love ... and the expression of it ... this was in a dream I had about two days ago and a visual of me writing a love letter in a past life in candlelight ... which has brought me to this blog post today.
Loving someone or an animal or a higher power is something that we can express in writing, and perhaps now is the time to do just that!
It can be a way of healing, letting emotions out to process, feel and work through and powerful as you are moving what is in your head and heart space out into the 'world'
I have such a desire on a personal level to 'write' inside of me too, but I have 'programs' that self sabotage with beliefs such as I didn't read as a child (and still do rarely) so my grammar and spelling, as a result, are terrible ... that is not a 'loving' belief I hold, so I will be doing what I am going to suggest for my own benefit too!
Why not write a love letter today .... and put it on paper, on an email, it could be in the form of poetry or art, whatever format works for you.
It could be to yourself (very powerful), to someone you currently can't physically see due to the 'virus', to someone that has left or didn't make it to this this physical world, to a beloved pet, or to perhaps a God if that is your path or to Mother Earth herself.
If you write one to you, put it perhaps somewhere that you can access easily and use it again if you need to
If you perhaps choose to write to someone or an animal that has passed, you could bury it in earth, light it (safely) on fire and send out into the Universe, or keep it, so that you can look at it again.
If you write one to a friend or relative that you are currently missing, then perhaps send via email
You also don't have to stop at one and you also don't need to 'send' it either!
I would suggest finding a quiet spot for yourself, and maybe even playing some of your favourite music in the background, burn some lavender essential oil or incense to help relax, and let it flow, rather than 'correcting' yourself.
I would love to know how you get on with this idea, so please do let me know by commenting on this blog post.
There is great love that is surrounding the planet right now, even though it may not feel like it to some. Going 'inward' with a love letter may just help.
I am sending you some too, with the intent of this post, so if you need it, please accept.

PLEASE NOTE: This could be very emotional for you (writing a love letter) ... so please be prepared for that. If you are in an unstable frame of mind from a mental health perspective, perhaps this can be something you can consider at another time.
This practice is especially important in times of stress, fear, anxiety and when you don't feel 'balanced'.
It is 'connecting' with everything around us and also inside of us, and there are many ways of doing it, so find what works for you, but also be prepared to change techniques during your life journey.
Spiritual practices like yoga, meditation and journaling can help very much in being more grounded (connected) and also helping us ground if we need to at a given moment with more ease.
Taking the time every day to ground too, can be life altering for some, so if you haven't tried this practice, it could be something you could start and you can start right now!
What does grounding look like for myself personally? When I have my morning coffee or tea, before the first sip, I close my eyes and I bring my awareness to my breathing .... for about 30 seconds, and let that be my only focus.
If I feel that isn't enough, I may then decide to meditate for about 10 minutes with my black tourmaline* crystal, which is my personal favourite, or simply carry the crystal around me with me or wear my bracelet made of the same crystal.
When I shower, a great way is closing your eyes and visualizing roots going from the sole of your feet into the center of mother earth.
For me too, if I sing loudly, this can have a grounding effect for me, and you don't have to be an opera singer to do this!
Walking in bare feet is particularly great for the outward connection in my own personal world, and there are lots of little kiddies that do this intuitively ... so if you have one that refuses to keep shoes on, you may want to look at their behavior with a different viewpoint.
Our journey of connection is a little challenging in the current energy, so perhaps grounding yourself throughout the day could help, and be a little bit of self care you can also share with others if you find it works.
Please do share your ways of grounding too so that others can have more reference points, and use what feels right for them. Being proactive with this practice is a great foundation, but you can use as a top up any time you may feel the need.
I have attached an image with a few very quick ways to ground that may also help.
Let's embrace the social side of community right now, by suggesting ways to help holistically, practically and from a place of love, and rename 'social distancing' to physical distancing, because we need to come together, and learn new ways of 'being' and moving forward.
Lots of love as always from me to you ... you are incredible and your soul is the key to everything
* This is my personal choice of crystal, but yours could be very different. Choosing crystals intuitively is always best. The main energy point in your body (root chakra) is associated with the colour red, so you might have a red crystal, or if crystals aren't for you, then incorporating the colour red into your wardrobe may be another grounding technique for you!
Today has been about a Rainbow and what it symbolized for me ... after a huge one presented itself whilst I was in my little Owl office ...
I am still working through healing after the transition of my mum, one of my amazing dogs and a miscarriage in the second half of 2019 ... and for me this beautiful rainbow was about connection 'with the other side' and their message to me
Everyone can't help being taken in by the beauty of mother nature presenting us with what we visually experience with such a wonder, even if you aren't a 'fluffy' kind of soul ... and along with 'my' rainbow .... "Somewhere over the Rainbow", a song that so many of us are familiar with, came straight into my head, which I have been singing pretty much all afternoon
I can only try and share with you how this all made me 'feel' ... a blend of connection with the souls I have spoken about, and a great big message about there being endless possibilities and hope ... I was a little giddy in a good way and could feel such beautiful energy being channeled through my heart center
I cried, I smiled and I sang. I just knew they were all around me (a few goosebumps also made an appearance) and felt such peace and a sense of happiness, in knowing they truly haven't gone anywhere, from a soul perspective
What a magical experience, which I am thankful for
Death and the associated grief is something that we rarely speak about in society in terms of what our beliefs are, how we feel about it and what it means to us ...
Death for so many can be our biggest fear, about our own death and about those around us dying ...
Perhaps the fear that the media are currently spreading globally about corona virus and people going into complete panic mode, is something that we can use for the good?
Should we perhaps start talking about our fears and start looking at holistic alternatives in conjunction with science ... start taking responsibility for us as individuals and work collectively, without judgement, for the greater good...?
How we feel about death I would suggest is directly correlated to our experience here in this world
That rainbow today showed me too that there are things we can control and things we cannot.
Our perception is everything ... and is this journey easy?
No, because we are here as humans to learn and grow .. so perhaps let us all think about the rainbow ... what it symbolizes for us as individuals .. and make magic happen .. for the good and for the better
What does your rainbow look like?
What does it symbolize for YOU?
This little musing is my take on my experience and your ideas and beliefs will more than likely differ from mine... but that is all again part of being human, our uniqueness and what makes us who we are ...
Being Irish, there may just be a pot of gold at the end of where I saw the rainbow ... so maybe I will bid you farewell for now and go look ...
Love as always
The Owl x
My M (mum) and myself 2 years ago in South Africa ...
I struggle with my own vulnerability and letting you see the very human side of me can be a challenge ...
So much of what I post on my Facebook page is with the intent to impact and help others primarily , but it can also be very much about my own personal journey 'at that moment', so please know you are not alone in figuring out this human experience!
Sometimes our days seem to just happen, we feel stuck and it is like we are on the same continuous washing machine cycle.
I have been in this space myself lately, after breaking my leg in three places and 7 weeks on, I am getting very very frustrated, and wasn’t exactly helping myself either, because at any moment we can very much change how we react to life and what changes we can implement to help ourselves.
By putting some 'magic' touches into my day today, it has helped me move into a much more empowered space!
This will look different for everyone (the magic), but my tools for the day were some herbal tea, filtered water and setting intent around a magical symbol I created and put on a stone, coupled with connecting with my guides to channel a message ... which was posted on my Facebook page
My intent ultimately here may be for you to see a little more of my human side but also for you to think about yourself, and what little things you can incorporate into your day to make little shifts .... it could be prayer, meditation, cup of coffee with a friend, soul jumping music, saying no to someone, or putting yourself first!
Who knows where these little elements of 'magic' that you choose to inject can take you ... ?
Mine led me to writing this short little muse ... which i have thoroughly enjoyed and trust you do too ...
I am so #grateful that you have taken the time to come here and be with'me'.... I look forward to some more time together ongoing
Love the Irish Owl xx
